Enterprise architecture management
Enterprise architecture management

Descripition

Enterprise Architecture Management (EAM) is a service that helps organisations align their business goals with their IT infrastructure. This service focuses on designing and managing the overall structure of an organization's IT systems, including hardware, software, data, and human resources. EAM helps your organisation understand how their IT systems support their business goals and identify areas where improvements can be made. The goal of EAM is to optimise IT systems to support the organization's overall goals and objectives. This service can include the development of an enterprise architecture framework, the creation of roadmaps for IT system improvements, and ongoing management of the organization's IT systems to ensure they continue to meet the organization's needs.

The group at Oak Digital Consulting has experience with different modelling languages to depict your organisaiton’s architecture. There are several modeling languages that can be used for Enterprise Architecture Management (EAM). Some of the most common ones used are the Zachman framework, TOGAF, ArchiMate, Business process model notation (BPMN), unified modeling language (UML) and systems modeling language (SysML).

Process

Assessment: The first step is to assess the current state of the organisation's IT systems and how they align with the organisation's goals. This assessment can include interviews with stakeholders, data analysis, and a review of existing documentation.

Design: Once the current state has been assessed, the next step is to design the future state of the organisation's IT systems. This design should align with the organisation's goals and objectives. The design includes the creation of an enterprise architecture framework, as well as the development of roadmaps for IT system improvements.
Implementation: After the design is complete, the next step is to implement the changes. This step can include the installation of new software, the modification of existing systems, and the training of staff.

Governance: Ongoing management and governance of the organisation's IT systems are necessary to ensure they continue to meet the organisation's needs. Building a governance can include monitoring the systems, making updates, and addressing any issues that arise.
Continual improvement: The service includes a methodology for continuous improvement in order to keep the IT systems aligned with the organisation's goals and objectives. Improvement is done through regular review and update of the Enterprise Architecture, monitoring and measuring the effectiveness of the systems and making necessary adjustments.
