Nathan da Silva Carvalho, Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Oak Digital Consulting, participated in a roundtable for Data for Policy 2022, Brussels. During a series of ignition talks, Nathan explained the relevance of cross-border services in the European Union, along with giving policy recommendations for user-centricity, interoperability and citizens’ data sovereignty, which are the foundations of cross-border digital public services.
The seventh edition of the Data for Policy 2022 Conference embraced a hybrid physical-virtual format, with one-day, in-person conferences held in three regions: Asia (Hong Kong), America (Seattle) and Europe (Brussels).
The conference series was established in 2015 with its inaugural edition ‘Policy-Making in the Big Data Era’. Its inception was a result of observing that rapidly emerging and developing digital technologies could be utilised to inform and direct public policy. The Data for Policy conference series has created a forum for interdisciplinary, cross-sector discussion for stakeholders from all walks of life.
